Welcome to our gardens. We are a family-owned nursery specializing in hostas, peonies and other perennials. We are in our thirteenth year and still enjoy raising plants, but we also enjoy visiting with the people who visit our gardens from far and wide. We always like to take the time to greet each person, visit with them and help with any questions that make selecting the right plants easier.
We have grown over 900 varieties of hosta and eliminate the ones which, after at least 2 growing seasons, do not grow well for us. We have lost count of the number of varieties we now have in stock, but still have many. If we don't have a variety you want and we will do our best to find it for you. If it is of comparable quality to ours, we will then order it for you, otherwise we will tell you where it can be purchased.
Our hostas are grown in one gallon pots and most are at least 2 years old. They can be picked up or shipped throughout the full growing season. And most hosta pots have multiple plants. The peonies are field grown or in 2-3 gallon pots. The potted plants are ready to be taken home for those who visit the gardens during the bloom season. Otherwise, we ship peonies in the fall. We begin with 3-5 eye plants and grow them two or more years to sell. Our gardens are state inspected and we guarantee our plants to be healthy and true to name. Since we cannot plant, water and care for them after you receive them, we are unable to guarantee them after that time. We are proud to say we are frequently told how well our plants have grown for our customers.
If you wish to visit our gardens, please call ahead. We are "retired", and though we are typically here, we do "take off" at times to do our own plant shopping. We ask that you do not enter our gardens when we are not here, and/or without an attendant. This is also our home and our neighbors watch it for us very carefully. So to save them from detective work, please call for an appointment and respect that it is our home.
